Back in action… mostly

September 27, 2009

www.rickeyre.com/blog and cricket.rickeyre.com are back online, however I have disabled the aggregated news feeds pending further investigation of the cause of yesterday’s outage. Enjoy!

This looks serious.

September 26, 2009

Welcome to my alternate blog site on wordpress.com. My usual blog is down for the time being. I fear it has collapsed under its own weight in its present format. That being the case, it will be restored in full in another incarnation (possibly here!) as soon as I can get the time to do it.

Meanwhile, and indeed as is the case most of the time these days, I can be found on Twitter, and on Flickr, where I have been uploading a lot of pics recently.

The cricket.rickeyre.com homepage has also been disabled for now, but other features within that subdomain, including Today In Cricket History, are still available.

Further status updates (and perhaps the occasional bloggage) here as they come to hand (ie, from my brain to my hand).

A bit of progress

April 20, 2006

Cricket.rickeyre.com and now.rickeyre.com are, unless I've missed anything, fully operational again. Thenetsessions.net has not been restored yet. Cricketwoman.net is present but dysfunctional.

I hope to work on some more restoration tonight.

Blogs returneth

April 14, 2006

The blogs and newsfeeds are back in action at cricket.rickeyre.com.au and now.rickeyre.com.au . The usual addresses, cricket.rickeyre.com and now.rickeyre.com, will be back in a few hours.

I hope to get around to restoring the podcast site tomorrow.

Cricketwoman is back

April 14, 2006

Cricketwoman is back at the new host. Not worth getting too excited about till I can add some fresh content, but it's back.

Currently working on the resuscitation of rickeyre.com and all its associated subdomains and so forth. cricket.rickeyre.com.au and now.rickeyre.com.au are sorta operative.

Good news on Good Friday

April 14, 2006

My host came back up yesterday after ditching Brian Mulroney and shifting to a server in its Canadian provinces series (Newfoundland, to be precise). I won't be staying at Newfoundland for long.

I recovered a backup of my databases last night, and have started rebuilding my websites on the rickeyre.com.au domain. In a few days time, I will overlay rickeyre.com onto this so that, for example, cricket.rickeyre.com.au = cricket.rickeyre.com (What is the mathematical symbol for a future tense equals?)

I expect to have cricket.rickeyre.com.au and now.rickeyre.com.au both fully operational this afternoon, and cricketwoman later on the weekend. It's now under my control again.
Have a peaceful Good Friday.

Maundy Thursday update

April 13, 2006

Situation still not good. I've lined up a new host though.

Just to remind: all the websites on my webspace (rickeyre.com and its subdomains, cricketwoman.net|com, thenetsessions.net, cricketista.net, rickeyremedia.com.au etc) are either not functionally properly or not at all.

Sites that I manage for other organisations are not affected by this mega-outage at all.

Wednesday update

April 12, 2006

I have an operative webspace at rickeyre.com, and have done since Monday, except for the lack of MySQL functionality. Which, of course, effects nearly everything I do on my websites.

This impacts on the blogs at cricket.rickeyre.com and now.rickeyre.com as well as cricketwoman.net. Although thenetsessions.net home page is still up, I have taken the mp3 and ogg files offline.

*.rickeyre.com off the air

April 11, 2006

cricket.rickeyre.com, now.rickeyre.com, thenetsessions.net and cricketwoman.net are all unavailable at the moment, and have been since approx 2am Saturday Sydney time. Currently there are issues with the MySQL server at my hosts. This makes for about 130 hours of downtime in the past eight days.

More news as it comes to hand.
